On the other side of the Salzach bank is the church of St. Andrä, directly on Mirabellplatz. A popular Advent caroling takes place there every year as well. The interior of the Gothic church has a wonderful ambience – ideal for the contemplative Advent caroling: Pieces of music, songs and texts are performed by around 100 artists in front of a sacred backdrop. Advent concerts are also held in the baroque University Church on Grüner Markt.
