Various theatres of world renown such as the Great Festival Hall are waiting for you in Salzburg. There are also smaller venues for experimental art to discover.
Salzburg State Theater All the important theatres and venues are easily accessible on foot from your Hotel Kasererbraeu. The Great Festival Hall is just a 5 minute walk from your Salzburg hotel. The 100 metres wide stage is one of the largest in the world. Here the high society meets during the course of the Salzburg Festival in summer attracting reporters and spectators to the gates of the Great Festival Hall.
Salzburger Landestheater Theatre
On the other side of the river is the Salzburger Landestheater Theatre at the southern entrance to the beautiful Mirabell Gardens. The theatre has served as a stage for great actors since the 18th century. The focus of the theatre lies in opera and musical theatre, drama, dance and theatre for children and youths.
Salzburg Marionette Theatre
Next to the Landestheater Theatre you will find a theatre that is famous all over the world despite the diminutive size of its actors – Salzburg Marionette Theatre. The puppets have enchanted children and adults in works by Mozart, Tchaikovsky or Shakespeare for approximately 100 years.
Schauspielhaus Salzburg Theatre
Directly below the mighty Hohensalzburg Castle and in the close vicinity of Hotel Kasererbraeu lies the Schauspielhaus Salzburg Theatre. Between 10 and 14 in-house productions are shown every year. The programme ranges from dramas from antiquity to modern plays.
